‘The Wizard of Oz’

Waipawa M&D is excited to be staging the beloved family classic, The Wizard of Oz. We are looking for a large, super-talented cast of varying ages with a minimum age of 8 years old at audition. This is a fun and exciting show with heaps of well-known songs and many fun scenes to learn.

There will be a pre-audition workshop on Tuesday 29th April, at the Waipawa M&D Clubrooms on Kenilworth St, where you can meet the team, hear more about the show, learn a song and learn some choreography  The workshop will start at 6.30pm and run for approximately 2 hours. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. Parents are welcome to meet everyone and hear about the show in our Meet & Greet and then the workshop section will be for auditionees only.

The characters and what is required is attached for your reference. In addition to the Lead roles there is an ensemble featuring many cameo roles that will be exciting to portray. The Cowardly Lion, Tinman and Scarecrow are all open to male AND female auditionees

Get in touch with us at Waipawa.productionsecretary@gmail.com with any questions or to let us know that you will be attending.

"This is a stellar cast, who have thrown themselves into their roles with boundless enthusiasm"

"The backbone of this production is it’s outstanding cast and production crew. This was a show worthy of a stage far bigger than CHB and we are so fortunate to have a group with such strength of talent."

"Holy Crap. Sweeney Todd @ CHB Municipal Theatre
Just Go. Yes, this is an unsolicited and completely shameless plug. Yes, it's that good."

"Out of this World - I had to keep reminding myself that I was in Waipawa. I went and saw Sweeney Todd last night in the Municipal Theatre and just could not get over the standard of singing, acting and scenery"
